Divorce Lawyer Remembers Judge Donegan

Filed under: Judges — David Siegel @ 8:41 am

Judge Donegan passed away recently and his passing sent shock waves through the divorce lawyer community. Judge Donegan was a strict judge, often commanding his court room with a short, forceful phrase or a sternful warning. Attorneys always knew what to expect from Judge Donegan. He was a long time member of the bench in Cook County, Illinois. He saw significant changes in the bench and bar during his tenure.Â
Attorneys always had the opportunity to present their arguments knowing that Judge Donegan would listen. Although some claimed that he was “pro men” on the bench, I always had a great deal of respect for him.Â
He will be missed and not soon forgotten by the divorce and family law bar practitioners.
